A1: High Quality Seed Production
A grader in the Univanich Research Department selects germinated oil palm seeds for our planting programme, or for dispatch to local and overseas customers. In order to produce high yielding hybrid oil palms we have imported pedigree parent material from leading international breeding programmes in West Africa, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. At Univanich, parent palms and their progeny are tested in extensive field trials to select the hybrid crosses most suitable for the environment of southern Thailand.
