During the latter part of 2015 and early 2016 the effects of the El Nino weather conditions were severe in the Southern Philippines denting the progressive growth that had been achieved at our joint venture Univanich Carmen Palm Oil Corporation factory. By late 2016 the recovery phase got underway with processing volumes increasing. The mill’s presence continues to give local small farmers the confidence to plant and expand their oil palm plantings, allowing for future growth

The Company is incorporating an Inclusive Business model working with small farmers and essential input suppliers to help Mindanao small farmers, the poorest region of the Philippines, to lift their families above the poverty line.

ในช่วง ปลายปี2558 จนถึง ต้นปี2559 ภาวะ เอลนิโน่ ในภาคใต้ของ ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์ได้ทวีความรุนแรงขึ้น จนชะลอความ ก้าวหน้าในการดำ เนินงานของ บริษัทร่วมทุน ยูนิวานิช คาร์เมน ปาล์มออย คอร์ปอเรชั่น อย่างไรก็ตาม ผลกระทบดังกล่าวได้ลดความ รุนแรงลงช่วงปลายปี2559 และทำ ให้เริ่มมีปริมาณผลปาล์มสดเข้าบีบในโรงงานมากขึ้น ทั้งนี้การมีโรงงานสกัดน้ำ มันปาล์มเกิดขึ้นใน พื้นที่นี้ทำ ให้เกษตรกรผู้ปลูกปาล์มที่นั่นมีความมั่นใจและพร้อมที่จะทำ การปลูกปาล์มน้ำ มันเพิ่มมากขึ้น เป็นผลดีต่อการขยายธุรกิจ ปาล์มน้ำ มันในอนาคต

บริษัทให้ความร่วมมือในการวางรูปแบบการดำ เนินงานช่วยเหลือเกษตรกรรายย่อยในท้องที่มินดาเนา ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ยากจนที่สุด ในฟิลิปปินส์ เพื่อให้ชุมชนในท้องถิ่นได้มีชีวิตที่ดีขึ้นต่อไป
