Since 2013, the Company has promoted the use of barn owls to control rats in palm oil plantations instead of using chemical poisons. In 2016 the Company donated several pairs of barn owls to local farmers who are eager to adopt this more environmental friendly method of pest control.

บมจ. ยูนิวานิช น้ำ มันปาล์ม ได้ริเริ่มโครงการการใช้นกแสกกำจัดหนูในสวนปาล์มเพื่อทดแทนการใช้สารเคมี ตั้งแต่ปี2556 ซึ่ง ในปี2559 ที่ผ่านมา บริษัทฯได้แบ่งปันความรู้ดังกล่าวและมอบนกแสกให้แก่เกษตรกรในชุมชน เพื่อนำ ไปใช้ควบคุมหนูลดต้นทุน ใน การผลิต และเป็นมิตรกับสิ่งแวดล้อมในคราวเดียวกัน
